This month marks my Naijaversary — another year of living, loving, and thriving here in Nigeria. When I first arrived, I had no idea how deeply I’d fall in love with the culture, the food, and even the everyday lifestyle. Today, I thought it would be fun to share some of my favorite Naija things that have truly become part of my life.
Ankara – The Fabric That Speaks
One thing about Nigeria? Fashion is never boring. Ankara isn’t just fabric; it’s art, culture, and self-expression stitched together. I love how each print has a personality of its own — bold, vibrant, and unapologetic. Whether it’s a tailored dress for church or a casual kimono for the weekend, Ankara has taught me that style can be both traditional and modern at the same time.
Chicken Pie – My Comfort Snack
Listen, I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of Nigerian chicken pies. There’s just something about that buttery crust filled with tender chicken and veggies that hits the spot. It’s quick, filling, and pairs perfectly with a cold drink on a hot Lagos day.
Mega Chicken – The Food Spot That Never Misses
When I first discovered Mega Chicken, I knew I had found one of my happy places. Whether I’m in the mood for Chinese rice, Nigerian jollof, or a simple plate of peppered chicken, Mega Chicken always comes through. It’s the variety for me — and the fact that it’s one of those places you can go with friends or family and everyone will find something they love.
Zaron Hydrating Serum – Skincare That Understands Me
Nigeria’s weather can be a little harsh, and finding good skincare is a must. Zaron’s hydrating serum has been my go-to for keeping my skin moisturized and glowing. It’s lightweight, affordable, and effective — what more could a babe ask for? Check out my review!
Munch It – My Crunchy Obsession
Naija snacks deserve their flowers, and Munch It is at the top of my list. It’s crunchy, tasty, and dangerously addictive. Don’t ask me how many packs I’ve gone through during movie nights or while working on a project — some things are better left uncounted.
Pinnacle Mall – A Slice of City Life
I love popping into Pinnacle Mall whenever I need a dose of retail therapy or just want to stroll around. It’s one of those places that makes city living enjoyable — from the shops to the little food spots, it’s a nice break from the everyday routine.
My Estate – My Pocket of Peace
At the end of the day, my favorite Naija thing has to be my estate. It’s my little pocket of peace in the midst of Lagos life. From evening walks to neighborly hellos, it’s the place that truly makes Nigeria feel like home.
Final Thoughts
Celebrating my Naijaversary with these favorites reminds me of how far I’ve come in embracing this beautiful culture. It’s not just about the big moments, but also about the everyday things that bring me joy.
Here’s to more years of Ankara prints, chicken pies, and discovering even more Naija gems.
