You Don’t Need Permission: Step into Your God-Given Calling

Living abroad as an expat has been one of the most transformative journeys of my life. In Nigeria, I’ve learned so much about faith, resilience, and purpose. One truth that has become crystal clear to me—and I want to share with you—is this: You do not need anyone’s permission to step into your God-given calling.

God’s Call Is Clear and Personal

Many of us wrestle with doubt or seek validation from others before stepping into our divine assignments. We wonder, “Is this the right time? Do I have what it takes? Will others understand?” But the truth is, God’s call is personal and sovereign. He has uniquely equipped and purposed you for a specific assignment, and His voice is the only one you need to heed.

Fear and Disapproval Are Not from God

It’s natural to feel fear or worry about stepping out. Sometimes, well-meaning friends or even family may hesitate or question your dreams. But remember, fear and disapproval are not from God. The Bible reminds us in 2 Timothy 1:7, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.” When you’re called by God, His strength and peace will empower you, regardless of the opinions of others.

Obedience Over Permission

Many women I know have delayed pursuing God’s purpose because they were waiting for signs or permission from outside sources. But true obedience is about responding to God’s whisper in your heart, not waiting for external approval. Moses didn’t ask the Israelites for permission to lead them out of Egypt; he obeyed God’s calling. Esther didn’t seek everyone’s approval before approaching the king—she obeyed her divine purpose.

Walking in Faith, Not Fear

Walking in your calling requires faith. It requires trusting that God’s plan is greater than any fear or obstacle. Hebrews 11:1 tells us, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Trust that God’s guidance is enough, and step forward boldly, knowing He has already prepared the way.

Encourage Others to Walk Boldly

As women of faith, we are called to be encouragers. Let’s remind each other that we don’t need permission from society, family, or even ourselves. Our permission comes from heaven—through prayer, conviction, and obedience. When God calls, He equips, and He empowers.

Final Thought

You were created for a purpose that only you can fulfill. Don’t let fear, doubt, or the need for approval hold you back. Stand boldly in your divine calling, knowing that God’s permission is all you need. Walk in faith, trust His timing, and shine His light wherever He’s leading you.

You’ve got this, and God is with you every step of the way.

If this message resonated with you, I encourage you to take a step today. Pray, seek God’s guidance, and trust that He’s equipped you to walk in your divine purpose. Share this post with a sister in faith who needs encouragement to move forward. And don’t forget—your next step of obedience could be just around the corner.
