How I Balance Ministry, Family, and Entrepreneurship.

Faith, Focus & Flexibility: Finding Balance in the Chaos

There’s no sugarcoating it—how I balance ministry, family, and entrepreneurship is even a mystery to me. Some days it can feel like spinning plates on a tightrope. One minute I am are here, then I need to be there, then suddenly something else needs my attention urgently. It can all feel so overwhelming and there are times I feel like I am failing in some areas. But I thank God for the day I heard this scripture, “He gives His beloved sleep.” I remember even reading a version that says sweet sleep. That day I understood that I was not made for the hustle lifestyle.

As a woman trying to do it all, I’ve learned that success means nothing if I’m not aligned with the One who gave me the vision in the first place. My relationship with God gives me the strength, peace, and clarity I need to focus and purposefully prioritize my life.

How I Balance Ministry? I Was Made For This!

Everything I’m doing now is what God has made me to do. Having this knowledge makes me confident that within me is the capacity to do. And anything that I don’t know, I have the capacity to learn. The bible says The just shall live by faith. And the way my faith is set up, I know there is nothing that is impossible with God.

Most importantly, I know the Holy Spirit is my advantage. He is my counselor, stand-by, advocate, teacher and so much more. With the Holy Spirit living in me, I cannot be disadvantaged in this life. If the one who knows all things lives in me…won’t I also know all things? Everything I need is already inside me to get the things that I need to get done as well as the wisdom to know when to do them. I believe God placed these desires in my heart for a reason. So I often remind myself: this isn’t just about the work—it’s about purpose. I am in the right place at the right time.

My Family Is My First Ministry

No matter how full my plate gets, in my heart of hearts, I know that success in ministry means nothing if I’m absent at home. I’ve learned from the scriptures that before the institution of the church was the institution of the family. So I decided that I must be present in my family to really make an impact on them the way I want to. Love begins at home. How you show love to your siblings that annoy you or your parents that have abandoned you is how you will learn to love your church member that won’t greet you. So even when I’m busy, I think about my family members and how I can show them the love of Christ.

These principles will also stand when my family begins to expand. I don’t want my children to have absentee parents. Nor do I want them to be taught strange doctrines. So when the time comes, I will reduce my ministry workload to focus on raising my children.

I Find Joy In Everything

One of the scriptures from my children’s church days that still guides me to this day is this; “The joy of the Lord is my strength.” While there are so many things that have to be done, they don’t have to be done in agony or anxiety. I choose to do them all with joy. I choose joy in every moment. Whether I’m feeling tired at rehearsal or busy at home somehow I will find a reason to laugh.

An you have to know that when the Lord Jesus says, I am the Lord of the Sabbath.” that rest is holy. Whether it’s reading, crafting, journaling, or just sitting in silence, I honor the moments that restore me. God created me with gifts and passions that matter, and I don’t have to earn rest—He is my rest. Check out my previous post where I talk about how I rest & recover.

🌿 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” – Matthew 11:28

Grace Over Guilt, Always

Not every day is productive. Some days I feel behind or overwhelmed. But I remind myself: God’s grace covers even the days I miss the mark. I don’t have to be perfect to be purposeful. I just need to be available—and obedient.

Final Thoughts

So, how I balance ministry, family and entrepreneurship is by the power of the Holy Spirit. With His leading, I don’t have to carry it all on my own. I trust that when I put my focus on Him, everything else will fall into place—just as He has purposed.
