How many of you attended the Loveworld Ladies Conference that happened the past weekend? Pastor really dug deep into the scriptures to show us that we are more than a woman. We are for God’s vision. It was such an uplifting experience. The words that we heard should not be forgotten. If you really want to move to the next level, you will take all these words and use them to catapult you to the next level. To ensure you’ve received the word, you can read (or reread) my last post on How to Receive The Word.
Of course you know I gotta share my highlights and key takeaways.
Takeaway #1 – You are NOT a woman! (This is a good one)
Pastor Chris Oyakhilome proclaimed to all of the ladies at the conference, “You are not a woman. You are not a woman first as some would say. You are first a spirit.” You know how it is when we start listing our priorities, most will say “I’m a woman first.” That means that her needs as a woman supercedes any other need. But here Pastor is saying that your spiritual needs supercede the needs of the flesh. The character of your spirit is greater and more real than the character of a woman.
This was a revelation I got a few years ago and quite often, I ask myself, “Is this the character of my spirit or the character of a woman I am expressing? How do I express the character of my spirit right now?” My greatest desire, as I’m sure it is for you, is to be the perfect example of our Lord Jesus. In order to achieve that, we have to let go of our associations with the flesh. We have to let go of our human affiliations. We are not where we are from. We are not what we do for a living or the daughter of our esteemed parents. We are kings and priests and the expressions of His glory and grace.
Many years ago, I had a bit of a run in with another woman and that led to her ask me if we could speak ‘woman to woman.’ When she said it, my immediate response was, “I’m not a woman. I’m a spirit in motion.” I was so aware that I was not operating from the realm of the flesh but I am functioning by the spirit of God that lives in me. I still wonder where the boldness to say such a thing came from. Even more, I wonder what she was thinking when she heard it. It’s like when Jesus would answer his accusers… I am the way the truth and the life… Sounds crazy right?! But it is unequivocal truth. It doesn’t matter if it sounds crazy to the world.
So my dear sister. Never forget, you are more than a wife, more than a mother… you are more than a woman.
I think I’m gonna stop here. This takeaway was a lot for me. What were your key takeaways or what is the spirit telling you concerning this particular post. I would love to hear from you in the comments!
